Social inbox (unified inbox)
A social inbox gathers comments, replies and private messages from several platforms into a single queue, so a team answers from one place instead of switching apps. Also called a unified or universal inbox.
The value is less about convenience than about misses: what six separate notification streams guarantee is that some questions go unanswered, and unanswered public questions are read by every future customer scrolling past. One ordered queue makes the miss visible.
What an inbox can contain depends entirely on each platform's API, not on the tool's ambition: some networks expose comments and messages, some comments only, some with delays. Any tool that claims full coverage of every network is describing its interface, not its data. This is the product category Echoia lives in, so read that sentence as both a definition and a disclosure.
Features that turn an inbox from a list into a workflow: assignment (who owns this thread), status (open, snoozed, done), and sentiment ordering so the angry messages surface first.
